6 Steps to Prevent Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a type of cancer with the highest number of cases in the world, as well as the most significant cause of death. Most new sufferers are detected at an advanced stage because of asymptomatic cancer.

The more the age increases, the higher the risk of a woman getting cancer. This certainly makes us worry. Even so, we can turn fear into a real action to prevent the disease that is a scourge of these women.

1. Actively moving
There is no old word to start exercising. Research says, exercise will reduce levels of the hormone estrogen, which is associated with cancer. Do the exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

2. Reduce weight
After menopause, obese women have a higher risk of breast cancer than their counterparts who have average weight. Even so, the increase in body weight in women who had an ideal weight also brings the same risk.

3. Enough for vitamin D needs
Studies that validate the benefits of vitamin D as an anti-cancer continue to appear. Finally, 94 percent of breast cancer patients lack vitamin D, and the cancer spreads faster than those with enough vitamin D.

4. Limit alcohol
The latest data of the National Cancer Institute show that women who drink one or two glasses of alcohol each day have a 32 percent greater risk of breast cancer. Experts recommend limiting no more than one glass of alcohol per day.

5. Pay attention to the symptoms
The initial symptoms of breast cancer can be lumps that are usually felt differently from the surrounding breast tissue, cause no pain, and typically have irregular margins. Other signs that may arise are armpit lumps, changes in breast size or shape, abnormal discharge from the nipple, and changes in the color or texture of the breast skin.

6. Perform early detection
Early screening and detection can actually significantly reduce staging in the findings of breast cancer cases. In addition to mammography, breast self-examination (BSE) that can be taught, then practiced alone by women, if done regularly can detect tumors 1.2 centimeters.
